I work therapeutically with children and young people aged 10 years and upwards. Working therapeutically with children and young people is all about creating a safe and supportive space where they can express themselves freely and work through any challenges they may be facing.
As a therapist, my approach is to build a trusting relationship with your child or teenager, where they feel comfortable opening up about their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I use a variety of techniques and activities that are tailored to their age, interests, and needs, making therapy engaging and interactive.
Depending on the situation, therapy might involve talking or using other creative methods to help your child or teen’s communicate and express themselves. The goal is to help them develop a better understanding of themselves, learn healthy coping skills, and build resilience to face life’s challenges.
Therapy can be incredibly beneficial for children and young people dealing with a range of issues, such as anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, behavioral problems, family issues, or academic stress. It’s also a valuable resource for those who simply need a supportive space to navigate the ups and downs of growing up.
Throughout the therapeutic process, I’ll work closely with you as parents or caregivers to ensure that we’re all on the same page and that your child or teen has the support they need both in and out of therapy sessions.
